Summer is upon us, which means only one thing! Dissertations, final projects, exams and presentations…I have decided to procrastinate all of these things by making a playlist with a niche name. Whatever it is you have been cursed with this summer, please take solace in the fact that it will be all over soon. So grab your mates and enjoy the summer with some good tunes to blast in the park… So here are Nouse's top summer songs!

"Certified banging artists on here… the beat’s just like smooth."

Jack Barton, Music Editor:
Walking On A Dream by Empire of the Sun6024

"The Aussie electro pop duo (no not MGMT) present us with a nostalgic banger that feels right at home blasting out across the park with a beer in hand. ‘Walking On A Dream’ takes me back to hazy summers after school when my biggest worry was remembering to bring my PE kit for Wednesday."

Ed Halford, Editor:
Sucker by Jonas Brothers6025

"Upbeat and catchy chorus, everything you want in a summer song. Well…nearly everything."

Lucy Cooper, Deputy Editor:
The Thrill by Wiz Khalifa and Empire of the Sun6026

"Nothing gives me a better pep in my step as I’m walking in the golden sun to a friend’s BBQ or drinks by the river. If I could have this playing in a continuous loop for the rest of time I would. (Also, it reminds me of Nouse prods)."

Kristina Wemyss, MUSE Editor:
Lucy by Still Woozy and ODIE6027

"This brings back memories of socially distanced meetups during the summer lockdown (what a weird time). Hopefully it will be the soundtrack to better times this year!"

Zara Osako, Deputy MUSE Editor:

"I’m thinking: summer road trips with the windows down kind of vibe."

Michael Athey, Comment Editor:
1979 by The Smashing Pumpkins6029

"The key to a summer tune is chill vibes but huge melodies. This epic knocks it out of the park, and glides along heat filled streets on a zephyr. It's all about summer nostalgia and I’m here for it."

Ben Wilson, Deputy Comment Editor:
Lost by Frank Ocean6030

"Super dreamy melody, R&B vocals and catchy hooks means it gets stuck in your head for about a week at a time."

Dom Smith, Sports Editor:
My Love by Route 94 and Jess Glynne6031

"As soon as that comes on, you know that you’re supposed to be outside in the sun, enjoying a beer and a barbecue. If you’re not already doing that, you soon are…"

Abi Ramsay, Chief Sub-Editor:
Baby by Aitch and Ashanti6032

"I know it is a relatively new song, but since it has been released it has already fulfilled its duty in my car of being a banger to drive to, with the windows down and sunnies on. Can’t wait for some day trips in the summer months with friends, and this song is on speaker!"

Adam Frost, Gaming Editor:
Burn the House Down by AJR6033

"Another song that I played for about a week in my car before it mysteriously appeared on Ed Halford’s playlist. But on a serious note, this is just a banging tune. What more needs to be said?"
