Please pass this information to the environment agency. The pictures, times and dates will be very useful in data collection.
ReplyAnonymous Posted on Tuesday 26 Jan 2021
Thank you so much for the information, Ben! Do you know anything about Mcquades court? It is just off Navigation road and very end of Walmegate (not town end). The flat is just inside the wall and very close to the bar. I know that student castle is fine and so is Jenny's fish and chips shop. So, I am hoping my flat is just fine.

ReplyHelene Posted on Tuesday 26 Jan 2021
Burton Stone Lane isn't flooded on the bingo side, believe the other side is also fine. River has gone down quite a lot also. Storm Frank was due to bring v. heavy rain today, at current we only have light rain.

Anyone know if Scarcroft Road the mount end is ok? Got a ground floor flat there and we are worried :/ so sorry to all those affected, complete devastation in a beautiful city.

Scarcroft should be fine. It is really only low lying roads near watercourses that are affected. Take a look at the Env Agency flood map...

ReplyJulian McArdle Posted on Tuesday 26 Jan 2021
I booked a train journey for tomorrow( the 29th December) two weeks ago to travel from Scotland to York to visit the big Cycle Heaven store in the Fulford Rd area and have seen on the map that it looks very close to the river. Is it likely to be closed tomorrow with this flooding? Sorry to see such a disaster happen to York.
ReplyDavid Ward Posted on Tuesday 26 Jan 2021
I know York well from the 50s and 60s. I have relatives living on Tang Hall. This service must reassure lots of families who have students attending the Universities in York. Well done.

ReplyEburacensis Posted on Tuesday 26 Jan 2021
This is impressive! While BBC TV has been concentrating on the worst (and talking to people who haven't been in York long enough to know previous floods), you've taken the trouble to show what is not affected and reassure people. You and Radio York come out of this very well indeed!
ReplyChris Posted on Tuesday 26 Jan 2021
Indeed, some negative coverage on certain TV news channels making current situation look worse than it is.
ReplyEburacensis Posted on Tuesday 26 Jan 2021
Yes indeed! Here is the 'collapsed bridge at Tadcaster this morning: https://thegrove.smugmug.com/Professional/Tadcaster-Bridge/n-85CVLR/i-BxB9StJ/A
