The University Cycling Club took an unexpected yet convincing victory at Roses, capping off a busy weekend for the White Rose cyclists.

After escorting the riders in the Roses torch relay for over 100 miles on Friday, the cyclists then competed in a 10 mile time trial and 40 minute mountain bike race on Sunday.

York riders Greg Melia and Jamie Raven shocked the strong favorites Lancaster to take first and second respectively, ensuring that York took home a valuable four points.

And although the mountain bike race was sadly not for Roses points, York won that event too, taking second through fourth places.
